My name is Wes.

I’m a professional guitarist, producer and teacher, currently living in Maplewood, NJ.

Burb life is treating me well. It’s given me more physical and psychic space to work. I’m still on my normal teaching and performing grind, so feel free to contact me with any professional inquiries.

My Bio

Wes Mingus - Sneaker Game
Wes Mingus - Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

I grew up in Dover, DE and have been performing since the age of four…

After graduating from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree I went on to work in a variety of genres and styles with luminaries such as Divinity Roxx, The Roots, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Wu-Tang Clan, Bilal, The Revelations, and many more.

In addition to being an instrumentalist, I've contributed writing and production to a wide range of projects. Highlights have included co-writing, co-producing and playing many different instruments on Ghostface Killah's critically acclaimed album 36 Seasons, as well as being prominently featured on the Wu-Tang Clan album A Better Tomorrow, as well as numerous other Wu-Tang recordings. I’ve also composed and performed theme music for ESPN, as well as film scoring project for a short film, and was a founding member of a soul band and production team called The Revelations.

I make music because it is a way to communicate with any sentient being. Even the deaf can feel vibration and be touched by it. Music transcends all language or borders. It is truly the closest thing to real magic that I’ve found, and everything I do musically is in service of seeking and spreading that magic.
